Awards/Badges

Our umpires are more than just whistle blowers. They’re on the court to keep the game fair and make sure everyone gets to play netball in a friendly, safe and fun way.

Impalas strives to develop umpires from the 12’s age group and look for ways to progress these young umpires through the award levels in equitable way that will build confidence and ability.

Umpire awards and badges are achieved via the following criteria:

RED AWARD

Run by Impalas Netball club for players who are interested in the 12’s age group. Consists of a half day theory program prior to start of the season. Participants are required to complete the “Rules of the Game” theory examine online.

BLUE AWARD

Umpiring approximately four games at a Gala Day or as arranged by Club. A mentor is assigned to provide support and feedback.

WHITE BADGE

Umpiring of a minimum of four low grade competition games. A mentor is assigned to provide support and feedback.

GREEN BADGE
